Hello

UX and Product Designer with degrees in History and Product Design, bringing a unique interdisciplinary perspective to digital experiences. I leverage my humanities background to deeply understand the contextual frameworks, situational factors, and structural elements that shape user behavior and needs.

My approach recognizes a fundamental truth: while we bridge the gap between people and technology, we do so within the complex reality of human experience—a world rich with subjective perspectives, cultural nuances, and dynamic variables. This holistic understanding enables me to design solutions that resonate authentically with users in their real-world contexts.

Professional Journey

From Humanities Scholar to Design Leader

My path into UX design began unexpectedly during my History degree, where I received a scholarship to design and lay out a digital magazine. This initial project expanded into developing the magazine's publishing website, marking my first encounter with the intersection of content, design, and user experience. While this work deepened my appreciation for History and the humanities—fields I continue to cherish as sources of knowledge and perspective—it also revealed that my true calling lay in applying these insights rather than pursuing traditional academic work. This realization led me to pursue a second degree in Product Design, where I could channel my understanding of human behavior, context, and narrative into tangible, user-centered solutions.

Evolution Through Design Disciplines

My professional journey has been one of continuous evolution and expanding scope. Beginning as a graphic designer working on magazines, books, and print collateral, I developed a strong foundation in visual communication and information hierarchy. As digital platforms gained prominence, I transitioned into web design, creating websites and digital applications that required deeper consideration of user interaction and behavior. This natural progression led me to specialize in UX Design, where I found the perfect synthesis of my humanities background and design skills—a space where understanding human context, motivations, and needs directly shapes the solutions we create.

Comprehensive UX Expertise

Over the past decade, I have cultivated a generalist approach to UX design, deliberately engaging with every phase of the design process to build comprehensive expertise. My work has spanned the full spectrum of UX practice: conducting discovery research and user interviews, facilitating usability testing sessions, synthesizing insights into actionable design strategies, and creating solutions that balance user needs with business objectives. I have led the development of design systems that ensure consistency and scalability across products, collaborated with cross-functional teams to align design with technical and business constraints, and advocated for user-centered thinking at every level of product development. This breadth of experience has given me a holistic understanding of how design decisions ripple through organizations and impact both users and business outcomes.

Transition to Strategic Leadership

Recently, my role has evolved from hands-on design execution to team leadership and strategic management. As a UX Manager, I have shifted from Figma and interface design to Excel spreadsheets and strategic planning—focusing on resource allocation, project prioritization, and organizational alignment. This transition has required me to leverage my comprehensive UX background in new ways: translating design thinking into business language, building cases for UX investment, and developing frameworks that enable my team to work more effectively. While the tools have changed, the core mission remains the same: ensuring that user needs remain central to our product decisions, now at a broader organizational level.

Beyond the Design Desk

A Lifelong Reader

Outside of work, I am an avid reader with an insatiable curiosity that spans genres and disciplines. Whether I'm immersed in literature, exploring speculative worlds through science fiction and fantasy, or delving into History, Philosophy, Politics, and Art History, reading remains my primary source of intellectual nourishment and discovery. Fairytales, critical theory, classical texts—the list is genuinely endless. What I value most about this habit is not just the escape or entertainment it provides, but the continuous opportunity to learn, encounter new perspectives, and expand my understanding of human experience. This love of reading naturally complements my work in UX design, where understanding context, narrative, and the human condition is essential to creating meaningful solutions.

Musical Expression

When I'm not reading, I channel my creative energy into playing electric guitar, with a particular passion for Heavy Metal, Progressive Metal, and the broader spectrum of metal subgenres. There's something deeply satisfying about the technical complexity and emotional intensity of these styles. That said, my musical tastes are far from monolithic—jazz improvisation and classical compositions always find their way into my playlist, offering different textures of creativity and discipline. Music, like design, is about understanding structure while leaving room for expression and experimentation.
